In 2004, we had a party to plan. It was a Bachelorette Party, but the plethora of inflatable male anatomy party goods were simply unacceptable. Our best friends, including our younger sister, mother, and stepmother, created an age range of 18-56. Consequently, none of the readily available products were appropriate.
We went to work planning exactly what we wanted, one of us in Phoenix, Arizona and the other in Pensacola, Florida. Together, we looked on the internet and in catalogs. Separately, we hit party stores, costume shops, and anywhere else we could think of to find the products we needed to pull off the event we envisioned. It took us months of planning and purchasing, often running into dead ends and complications, but in the end, our Bachelorette Party/Weekend was ready for execution.
New Orleans was an ideal location with lots to do and see, so we booked a house where we could all stay together, complete with plenty of room to stretch out and the ever-important kitchen equipment, namely, a blender. We sent out personalized invitations that warned everyone to prepare for an inordinate amount of fun! We didn't overlook a single detail, save one and wouldn't you know it would be male. Hurricane Ivan delayed our trip when it hit the Gulf Coast the same week. Thank goodness we were able to reschedule for the following week because the party must go on.
Once we finally arived in New Orleans, we donned our boas. We were each crowned with customized tiaras. We inducted everyone into the fold and drank a toast celebrating our sisterhood. Our weekend was set in motion, and we spent the rest of the time celebrating, laughing, and growing closer. We wore our boas everywhere, and painted the town up and down. The Big Easy was changed forever. When we each went our separate ways, our boas were seen trailing in the wind behind us.
Since then, we have repeated this amazing experience with more events. We often combine our goddess gatherings with other things occurring in our lives. Whether a wedding, a baby shower, a birthday, or another affair, we always set time aside for boas and bonding. This tradition has become an amazing part of our lives.
The creation of The Giggling Goddess is our way of promoting something so dear to us. We provide the tried and true products that have made our gatherings successful. We hope they do the same for you. Our primary goal is that the ease of finding everything you need in one place will promote the regular practice of organizing outrageousness and facilitating fabulousness!
